| Richard E. Fischer, 52, of W. Newbury, VT, was found
dead in his truck at a truck stop in NY on December 6, 1996. It was established that he
had probably died on December 3rd. He had been employed by Taurus Service, Inc. since 1980
as an area representative doing sales to Taurus dealers, technicians and dairymen doing
their own inseminating. Previously, he worked for the Curtis Breeding Service. He also
owned the Fischer Construction Company. After graduating from Stockbridge, he enlisted in
the U.S. Army for three years and served in Korea and Panama. While still in the service,
he married and they lived in Panama. After his honorable discharge, they moved around
because of his job, living in Deerfield, MA; Fairlee, VT; and Bradford, VT before moving
to W. Newbury 14 years ago. He belonged to various service organizations, the republican
committee, the Connecticut Valley Fair Association, the Vermont Truckers and Producers
Association. He was a very active member of his church. He is survived by his wife Lynda,
2 sons and 2 daughters. |
