| Stetson K. Adams, 74, of Tyringham, died October 8, 1997
at his home. He was a member of the Board of Assessors since 1978 and was a former member
of the Conservation Commission. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Force.
After graduating from Stockbridge, he began working for the State of Massachusetts in what
is now known as the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management where he was
forest and park supervisor at Beartown and Erving State Forests from 1951 to 1963. He
became a service forester in Berkshire County from 1963 until his retirement in 1982. He
was a member of the Massachusetts Forestry Association and the Massachusetts Association
of Professional Foresters, and Massachusetts Wood Producers. Besides his wife, he leaves 3
sons, a daughter and 2 grandchildren. |
